Easy Homemade Cake Pops

These easy homemade cake pops are made with cake mix, frosting, and chocolate for a fun, festive dessert. They are perfect for parties, holidays, or anytime you want a sweet, bite-sized treat that feels special but simple.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 of cake mix (any flavor) + ingredients called for on the back of the box
  • ½ cup Betty Crocker frosting (any flavor)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles
  • Lollipop sticks

Method
 

  1. Bake the cake according to package directions and let cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cake into fine crumbs. Mix in frosting until the mixture holds together.
  3. Roll into balls and place on a lined baking sheet. Chill for 30 to 60 minutes.
  4. Melt the chocolate until smooth.
  5. Insert sticks and dip cake balls into chocolate. Decorate with sprinkles.
  6. Let set upright until firm.

Notes

  • Add the frosting gradually and stop once the cake mixture holds together. Too much frosting can make the cake pops soft or heavy.
  • Chill the cake balls for at least 30 minutes so they stay firm and are easier to dip.
  • Dip the end of each lollipop stick in melted chocolate before inserting it to help keep the cake pops in place.
  • Let the coating fully set before storing or serving. Cake pops can be made ahead, stored in an airtight container, or frozen once set.
